simply, selfishly
I always hope / expect that I will leave things alone after the latest home reorganization. maybe, maybe this time.. since I finally did what I actually wanted, rather than what felt new but was still meeting some sort of generalized expectation for the interior of a house.
there are a few canvas floor cushions for guests to sit on.. I had a few people over this past weekend and, to me, it felt like the best way to open up this small space.
this set up feels honest. I find its really hard to come by that feeling

( kids ) book
did you ever read this book when you were a kid? I kept having the story & message pop into my head recently, and luckily my rather sharp Dad somehow remembered the title (truly, I'm impressed)
reading this book gave me the early notion that once something material was no longer useable in one way, it still very well might be in another. so important!

for sale- SOLD
SOLD
we no longer need this mid-century wooden bench, so its available if anyone would like to purchase it! bench only, no cushions or sheepskins- or cats- included. seattle local pick-up would be best, but shipping is possible.
though, with purchase of the bench I could tell you the secret of where I found my navajo churro pelts :)

rabbit ( weaving )
I cut several rabbit pelts into strips & then stitched the ends together to form a continuous strand for weaving, on my lap loom
images show front & back
made also..
& I made this last week. I wanted a place to store throw blankets in our living room. I wove deerskin leather & then hand-stitched around the edges, leaving the four outermost ends long enough to attach to the hardware of the table legs (made a small hole in the leather, fitted this over a threaded post & replaced the washer/nut over it)
( made )
a few things I've made or added to our house recently. the sun is out again today so photos are actually possible!
\ jacob lambskin on this ottoman
/ walnut slab table- I bought a finished slab from this store, then made walnut legs for it on the lathe & put it all together with the critical help of my friend joel

through knit
my friend Brynn & I designed a knitted curtain for the back door of my house, and Brynn knitted it flawlessly. only issue with such an item- edges roll on the sides.
this is the first time I've seen this shadow cast through the curtain by something called the sun.. which has decided to visit us in seattle today
