it can be a battle to stay positive. maybe this is more true in Seattle, though, probably not.. its something of a challenge anywhere.

to consider what's wrong isn't efforted- its natural, unavoidable maybe. to consciously bring to mind all that is right- not wrong- is less natural

in seattle..

- it is safe
- it is peaceful
- it is not too crowded
- it is close to beautiful nature
- there are many creative & friendly people
- we are pretty open
- it is private
- it is slow to medium paced
- it has lots of good coffee
- it has macrina

etc..
we are lucky, and we ought to feel it.

surprisingly, on our trip to scandinavia last year, I didn't find lots of knitwear (that was really compelling) like I'd expected. two exceptions- one was a men's sweater from acne.. the other, a piece from gudrun & gudrun, a brand out of the Faroe Islands.

I wove this on my lap loom the other day. it wasn't originally what I'd hoped for, so I worked on it over the following days, and finished it yesterday.

its various lives- secrets ;) - and processes are covered over on the back with a black linen patch.

this piece is woven, stitched & stuffed, and the yarn is undyed handspun wool
