re (philosophize)

I didn't, until about a year ago, almost ever buy independent designer items, much as I've long admired them. I got to a point where buying a pair of really beautiful green suede rachel comey boots was permissible, and from there lost some of my usual filter. I'm not really ok in general with $400 for pants. I've got a new (old) approach, please hold me to it:

back to wearing mostly vintage- I've been finding vintage clothing recently that I'm really happy with for myself. I've noticed, looking down at my recent ensembles, that I'm primarily doing this already..

sweaters & shawls- handmade or vintage only

shoes- these can be dieppa restrepo, rachel comey, etc. I think its worth spending here, as I walk a lot & need decent footwear. and I just can't make myself wear new balance tennis shoes, soo.. there it is.

  2. i echo this and agree that shoes are worth the dough especially if they are made from quality materials and not in china. i've been swooning over a pair of dieppas myself, how do you like yours?

  3. I really like them- they are very good for walking around, good cushioning & support. they crease a lot, quickly, and on mine, a few spots of finish have come off. I would definitely recommend them anyhow
