its difficult to judge whether a stop is justified while driving along a road or highway.. a few stops we made along our trip were warranted & worth it indeed

large pyrite & amazing smooth antler beads came from a rock shop, and these buffalo teeth beads and fringe deer skin pouch were finds at an antique mall.. the antler beads needed only a sturdy cord, and I braided a delicate hemp string for the buffalo teeth

I also picked up a couple of items for my shop, and am listing them this afternoon..

& more will come soon!

I've mentioned ingred before, but haven't gotten a chance to post photos of this amazing collar.. she and I worked out the details over a few careful months, and I am so pleased with this result

the construction is all meticulously hand-done, in a soft (& warm) grey wool

we're staying in a modest motel right on the beach; modest, but nice.. have just eaten a great seafood meal & watched a gorgeous sunset

at the mill, on the road

we've begun our west coast road trip & are presently in Oregon.. our first stop was on the way, in southernmost Washington to the Pendleton Woolen Mills! we took a tour, though unfortunately no photos were allowed in the factory.. a shame, as it was an interesting place.. relatively old-fashioned and simple, with many amazing colors and a comprehensive look at the initial wool state all the way through the loom-based construction of some of Pendleton's great blankets

we were able to check out (& photograph) the Mill Store, which had some novel items, mainly the wool by the yard (only plaids, stripes, and solids from this location.) We found a nice plain cream oversize throw for $30 and some gorgeous forest green lightweight wool which I plan to make shams with.. $8.99 a yard!

I've come to realize just today that I've gotten distracted & unfocused.. I haven't made jewelry or listed sufficient vintage in a couple of weeks. I'd like to make up for it this week.. since I'm leaving for a road trip on friday (explains some of the distraction) I'll really need to hustle on this.. stay tuned for new items through thursday!
